End of the Spear

Friday 29th September 7pm

Free Church, George Street

In 1956 Christian missionary pilot Nate Saint, along with four other missionaries, flew a light aircraft into the Ecuadorian jungle. A few days later the brutal murders of these five men at the hands of the Waodani became international news. The story though, didn’t end there but became one of the 20th century’s greatest stories of courage, sacrifice, forgiveness and reconciliation.

Hollywood film ‘End Of The Spear’ (PG) (not yet released in UK) tells the story from the perspective of Steve Saint (the pilot’s son) using the men’s own diary entries and film footage, with the personal accounts of their wives and of the Waodani tribe members themselves.

A free screening of the film is being hosted in the Free Church on Friday 29th September as part of a weekend being organised by MAF Mission Aviation Fellowship, the organisation for which pilot Nate Saint flew.

Doors open at 6:30pm for 7pm start.

Free tickets are available from either Campbeltown Free Church or Campbeltown Community Church.

Refreshments included and all are welcome.
